Solutions

AIX (and VIOS Virtual I/O Server)

To update AIX (and VIOS) for the 2008 change use chtz to to change to the correct TZ string, see DST Change for AIX and ANZ Information for further information.
APAR IZ08776: ZONEINFO CHANGE FOR EASTERN AUSTRALIA REGIONS
APAR IZ08697: DST CHANGE FOR EASTERN AUSTRALIA IN 2008 (smit defaults)

The APARs are NOT required, unless you use the zoneinfo database, most if not all customers we are aware of use the standard AIX TZ environment variable, so this environment variable is all that needs to be updated, there are no APARs to make this change. This change can be done by editing the /etc/environment file or using the chtz command, and rebooting.

Java
